Monks Orchard Primary School, Academy Conversion Consultation
The governing body of Monks Orchard Primary School has been discussing the idea of academy conversion, on and off, for a number of years now. Though there is no compulsion for schools to convert to academy status, the government’s white paper ‘Educational Excellence Everywhere,’ (March 2016) clearly states “…we will move to a system where every school is an academy.”
We have therefore decided to consult our stakeholders about whether or not Monks Orchard should convert to academy status.
We would like your views on two questions:
Should Monks Orchard Primary School convert to academy status or should it remain a local authority maintained school?
If the school were to convert to academy status, which form of academy should it convert to?
You can submit your views by e-mail to this address:
(Please write ‘Academy,’ in the subject box)
If you do not have access to e-mail you can submit your views in writing, using the Governors’ post box in the office.
We will not respond to individual e-mails or written submissions, but the governing body will consider all contributions before making a decision.
The consultation closes at noon on Monday 21st November.
A meeting for all parents and carers is scheduled for 6:00pm on Monday 7th November, in the school hall. This meeting is for sharing information and trying to answer any questions you may have about academisation and we strongly encourage you to attend.
